Doing What Jesus Did
:: The outward sign of becoming more like Jesus is actually doing the things Jesus did. In Jesus' last object lesson before going to the cross, He took a basin and towel and preformed the most menial task of His day - He washed feet. Then He said: "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them" (John 13:14-17). Later on the same night, Jesus promises that all those who remain connected to Him, and love one another as He loves us (through sacrificial service)-will be filled with His joy (John 15:11).
:: We are making a difference by serving with Christ's love to strengthen the church, bless the city, and reach the world with the Father's love.
