Vision & Beliefs

Grace Northridge Anglican Church is a community of faith on mission, rooted in scripture, Spirit, and sacrament. We seek to humbly grow in our relationship with God and our understanding of His Word, authentically engage in joyful worship and life together and faithfully share the Gospel and our lives as we serve our neighbors with hospitality and love.

A summary of our faith can be found in historic statements of the Church, including the Nicene and Apostles' Creeds and the Anglican 39 Articles. We believe that these theological convictions should not only be upheld, but lived out in tangible ways.

We do this by studying scripture and seeking to conform our lives to its promises and demands with the help of the Holy Spirit. We do this by retaining and thoughtfully adapting many of the historic practices of the church related both to worship and communal life, trusting that God’s grace meets us in unique ways through the sacraments. Moreover, we do this by sharing the light and hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our words and with our deeds.

We are by no means a perfect community, but God is faithfully and continually bringing to completion the good work that he has begun in us both personally and collectively. We welcome all those who desire to join us in this way of being and doing.

Affiliations

We are part of the Anglican Communion, which is the fourth largest body of Christians in the world. It was founded during the Protestant Reformation in England and was spread around the world by the British empire. Anglicans seek to balance reformed theology and the historic faith and practices of the church.

Grace is a member of The Anglican Mission in America (AMiA), a missionary society of gospel-centered leaders and churches. Grace also enjoys a special partnership with The Anglican Diocese of Kagera, Tanzania and its bishop, The Right Reverend Darlington Bendankeha. Both of our pastors were ordained under the authority of the Kagera Diocese, and commissioned as ministers in the US to serve under AMiA and its lead bishop, The Rt. Reverend Philip Jones.
